Our study of the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley will begin on Wednesday, March 25. If you did not complete your reading of this novel over the break, please have it completed and annotated before this date.

An Introduction to Frankenstein will be examined in order to examine the essential question of what is the relationship of a writer to tradition? (TE pages 758- 767) Pertinent terms are appendage, ungenial, acceded, platitude, phantasm, and incitement. Components of Gothic Literature will also be examined in relation to the Romantic Movement.

Examine selection terminology as well as to engage in a thorough discussion of each segment of chapter breakdowns: Author Introduction and Letters One-Four; Chapters one-five; Chapters six-ten; Chapters 11-15; Chapters 16-20; Chapters 21-24 (especially the closing letters)

DISCUSSION DAYS are as follows: Friday, 4/17 and Monday, 4/20; Wednesday, 4/22 and Friday, 4/24; Monday, 4/27 with the final assessment occurring on Wednesday, 4/29, at the latest
